Browning trail cameras were introduced to public in the early 2013. The core idea behind the launch was to provide a trail camera series that would be a step above the rest trail camera models on the market, and still be affordable. Browning also wanted to create a series of trail cameras that had some features exclusive to Browning cameras. Thus three trail camera series were introduced; Browning Range Ops, Browning Recon Force and Browning Spec Ops. With these trail camera models, Browning also introduced a range of trail camera accessories like tree mounts, security boxes, external power packs and even their own memory cards and batteries.

The quality of the photos both day and night is really good. Daytime photos are bright and colorful and nighttime pictures are clear and sharp thanks to powerful IR flash.

Browning Recon Force is easy to set up. The interface is easy to read due to large symbols and display backlight. The case design is top notch; a tight seal keeps the moisture out and camo design blends the camera well into bark patterns.

This camera really is fast when it comes to taking pictures. Trigger speed of less than 1 second combined with wide detection area and fast recovery time ensure that you will not miss a shot.

There really are not many weaknesses in this camera. One small flaw is the power consumption both day and night. The battery life of Recon Force really is not as good as some competing trail camera models. To get the best out of the camera and to extend the battery life, it is recommended to use Lithium batteries. On the other hand if you want to save money in the long run and you don’t mind a shorter lifetime you can use rechargeable NiMH batteries.

Browning Recon Force is an excellent trail camera at this price range. At the moment it is one of the few affordable trail camera models that can seriously compete with popular models like Moultrie D-444 and Bushnell Trophy Cam.
